What is Acetylated Lanolin?
A chemically modified form of lanolin where acetic acid has been added to improve its texture and water resistance.
Why is it used in products?
Formulators love it as an emollient because it spreads easily and gives products a silky, luxurious feel on the skin.
Why does it clog pores?
Acetylated lanolin forms a thick occlusive barrier that traps dead skin cells and sebum inside pores. Its heavy molecular structure doesn't absorb well, sitting on top of the skin and creating the perfect environment for comedones to form.
