Black Kelp

What is Black Kelp?

A type of large brown seaweed harvested from cold ocean waters, rich in minerals and trace elements.

Why is it used in products?

Brands market it for its detoxifying and mineral-replenishing claims, positioning it as a deep-sea skincare superfood.

Why does it clog pores?

Black kelp is loaded with iodides that trigger acne flares by inflaming the walls of hair follicles. It also deposits a heavy, mineral-laden film on skin that impedes normal pore drainage. This double action makes it a potent pore-clogger for sensitive skin.
